Boston to DC

Washington DC

Easy Travel Boston to DC

Several years I had the opportunity to spend time in our Nation Capitol.  There are many great things about Boston and Washington DC and it starts with getting to DC from Boston.  Washington DC is a very quick trip coming from Boston MA. Regardless if you decide to hop on the train or fly its a very easy trip. Flying to Washington is the fastest.  Reagan flight time is under an hour.  Train travel will take you a little over six hours, but will keep you entertained the entire way.

Getting around and Walkable Factor

DC Metro

When I traveled down to Washington DC I often stayed in Arlington Virginia which is not far from the District. Courthouse is located in Arlington Virginia. Courthouse was fairly central to DC Sites.   This neighborhood also offered tons of shops and restaurants right at my fingertips. I could walk from just about anywhere from the home while visiting. The metro can get you to places in the district, along with other points of Virginia and Maryland. Washington DC Area offers two airports you can fly into. Reagon which is the major airport, but there is also Dulles which is a smaller airport and close to Maryland. Many of the people who live in Washington DC and surrounding areas are often in government jobs or are lobbyists.

Entertainment and Nightlife

Great Food in DC and Boston

Boston and DC are both old cities.  DC and Boston share a history that is interwoven together. The district and surrounding areas offer tons of options for residents and visitors to take in and enjoy. Museums in DC are often free which is very different then Boston. DC offers restaurants at all price points and all types of food except seafood.  Cultural and Arts are available and you can see all genres with ease.

Housing

Boston and DC offer historical Design in there homes

Homes in the district offer all the charm you would expect along with detail like Boston. Both cities also are not cheap to live in especially the district. Washington and Boston have experienced a serious boom in building and popularity over the years. Amazon is soon going to call Crystal City home. Amazon moving in will make housing market that was already competive even more competive.

Lifestyle

Boston and DC share housing challenges, history, but they also share that both cities are extremely health conscious cities. These two cities are often on fitness list and overall health lists. Many people in the Metro DC area often bike, run or walk to work. Boston traffic is no where near an issue as Metro DC area. Traffic in Washington is a big problem.

Demographics

Both of these great cities you will find more transplants have settled in. Both of these hubs are exstremely welcoming to new people calling them home.
